The 2022 Canadian Digital Health Survey reveals that 43% of Canadians reported no chronic illness, while common conditions include arthritis (16%), emotional or mental health conditions (17%), obesity (10%), and chronic pain (13%). Most Canadians (85%) have a family doctor or regular place of care. In the past 12 months, 50% of respondents had at least one in-person visit with a primary care provider, and 42% received prescriptions in person. Virtual care uptake was lower, with 42% engaging in any form of virtual visit. Notably, 25% of Canadians reported caregiving responsibilities. For most, access to care was local—90% lived within 30km of a healthcare facility and 77% traveled under 30 minutes to reach care. The average waiting room time was under 30 minutes for 62% of respondents.
