This section highlights how Canadians interact with their healthcare system through digital services. In 2022, the most desired services included e-prescriptions sent directly to pharmacies (83%), electronic access to personal health records (80%), and electronic appointment booking (75%). Actual usage, however, lagged behind interest, with only 51% having received an e-prescription and 36% accessing personal health information online. Telehealth phone consultations were used by 46%, while video visits reached just 18%. Demand for virtual and mobile-enabled services remains high, reflecting Canadians’ strong interest in streamlined, digitally supported healthcare access.
