The 2022 National Survey of Canadian Community Pharmacists offers a detailed demographic and practice profile of its respondents. The majority of pharmacists surveyed are under 50 years old, with 48% aged 18–34 and 38% aged 35–49. Women make up 52% of respondents, and men 43%. Pharmacists are distributed across all provinces, with the largest representation from Ontario (35%) and Quebec (22%). Most work in chain/franchise pharmacies (41%) or banner pharmacies (28%), while 18% are in independently owned practices. The majority (68%) are employed full-time, and 59% work in communities with more than 100,000 residents. In terms of roles, 39% are staff pharmacists, followed by pharmacy managers (19%) and owners (18%). Nearly two-thirds of respondents have 10 or fewer years of experience, highlighting a relatively young workforce. This profile provides context for interpreting pharmacists' views on digital health and pharmacy operations across Canada.
