About the Survey

This page provides results from the 2025 Canadian Medical Student Digital Health Survey. The survey provides insight into how medical students are currently using digital tools in their education and clinical training, their self-rated confidence in applying these tools, and their expectations for future practice. The findings will be valuable to medical schools, faculty leaders, national organizations, policymakers and other stakeholders who are seeking to modernize medical education to reflect the realities of digital transformation in health care.

Survey Topics

The survey examines how medical students across Canada learn about, use, and perceive digital health in their education and clinical training. It covers demographics, prior exposure to digital health, use of digital tools in learning and clinical settings, and self-rated confidence in performing digital health–related tasks. Students are asked about their attitudes toward digital health adoption, including perceived benefits, concerns, and its expected impact on future practice. The survey also explores how digital health is integrated into medical curricula, preferred learning formats, barriers to training, and areas of further interest, providing a comprehensive picture of students’ readiness for a digitally enabled healthcare environment.
